Sunfast 20
Sailing Tips

The Sunfast 20 has a centre board and a lifting rudder . Both these foils are very fine and will allow you to maneuver very easily.
Sails damage the most when they are flapping and much less when they are sailing. Try to keep the flapping to a minimum and save our sails
The ballast in our boats is in the hull. The boats are not offshore boats and they may require a little assistance in righting moment from the crew.
It is very important that the rudder blade is right down . If this is not the case then you are likely to have weather helm (This means the boat wants to steer up into the wind) Make sure the blade downhaul (the line without the

block) is pulled right up.
In strong winds the boats are just as fast if you reef. Please ensure that the sail is pulled flat when you reef .
When dropping the main please make sure that the topping lift is tensioned as it can damage the sail slides if  the boom is dropped too low .
When returning to the moorings please avoid having the boat touch the moorings as the damage to anti fouling is a high cost we want to avoid as much as possible.
