Lagoon, St.Maarten The organising authority is the Sint Maarten
Yacht Club. The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of
Sailing of ISAF (2001-2004), this notice of race and by the
sailing Instructions.- The regatta will be sailed as a Category
C event. The regatta is sanctioned by the Caribbean
Sailing Association as the Women s Caribbean One Design
Keelboat Championship.The regatta will use organization
supplied Jeanneau Sun Fast 20 boats. Seven boats will be
available for use and an eighth will be on stand by. Organizers
will make every effort to keep equipment as equitably
distributed as possible but no guarantees are made in this
regard.The regatta is open to 14 teams of not less than 3 and
not more than 4 women per team.- Out of the 14 teams 4 places
will be held for St.Maarten teams, leaving 10 remaining places
for overseas teams. If overseas places are not filled by
October 10th they will then be made available for more local
teams. Teams must wear co-ordinated coloured shirts or
outfits, which have the function of identifying the teams
during sailing to the committee and spectators. For this reason
the shirts should be distinct colours. The regatta will not
provide for these shirts or outfits.- Please inform us of the
colours or print that your team will be wearing. The
registration, welcoming party and the skippers briefing will be
held at

the St.Maarten Yacht Club on Friday-
November 5th at 6.00pm. Racing will not start before
9am.on Saturday November 6th.- The regatta will be sailed in a
2 pool round robin format, which will result in a final round
robin of a championship pool (gold) and a silver pool.
Trophies will be awarded to 1st 2nd and 3rd in the gold
fleet and 1st in the silver fleet. The award ceremony will be
as soon as possible after the racing on Sunday. The entry
fee/boat rental for the regatta is $200.00US per team. Teams
may enter by sending in their entry information to the

information we need name of skipper, team name, how many in
team and country and T.Shirt size of each crew. The
equipment will be available for teams to practice on Friday 5th
November from 9 am to 4 pm. Reservations should be directed to
director@bigboatseries.com Entries for overseas teams
will be accepted on a basis of order of entry received.
Interest of participation should be in by October 1st.
Conformation for overseas entries should be in by October 17th.
Entries for St.Maarten teams may be decided with a
qualifying/practice regatta. A Separate Notice of Race will be
made for the qualifying regatta.
